Q: When and where is the Trick-or-Treat 5-miler?

A: The Trick-or-Treat 5-miler starts in Tyler State Park at the Art Center off Newtown-Richboro Rd. on October 30, 2011 at 9:00 AM.

Q: When should I get to the race?

A: The race starts promptly (we mean it!) at 9:00 AM. We advise runners to arrive no later than 8:30. If you are registering, you should not arrive any later than 8:15. Registration will close at 8:45 so we can start the race on time.

Q: Will the course be marked?

A: The course will be meticulously chalked with directions so all of our runners know exactly where to go at all times. Also, we will have trained course marshals posted at several turns and junctions to eliminate any room for error. Unlike other race marshals, we require ours to complete the course at least three times before race day so that they can help you with any questions regarding any aspects of the route.

Q: How will the race be timed?

A: We are timing our race using the cutting-edge Jaguar Timing system, which uses a radio-frequency emitting tag embedded in your bib to provide extremely accurate results. By combining the chip and bib into one unit, we can provide you with instant results including time, overall placement, and age group placement. As always, our timing will be conducted and verified by SpectaSport.

Q: Is my entrance refundable or transferable?

A: Unlike many other races, we can provide you with a refund of $20 up until two weeks before race day. To request a refund, please email refunds@trickortreat5miler.com and be sure to include your full name and the email you’re registered under in your request. We can also transfer your bib to another runner for $5 up until 10 days prior to race day. To transfer your bib to another runner, please email transfers@trickortreat5miler.com so we can provide you with the necessary form to complete your bib transfer.

Q: When is bib pick-up?

A: Bibs will be available at the Athletic Shoe Shop in Newtown, PA (click HERE for directions) from 10 AM- 4 PM on October 29, 2011. We know some runners cannot make it to packet-pickup, therefore, we offer bib shipping for $7.00. Bibs will ship out on October 24.

Q: When can I register, how much is race registration, and what do I get?

A: Registration is $35 until September 1, $40 from September 15-27, and $45 on race day. Registration is open now online. After October 14, you will only be able to register at packet-pickup or on race day. While our race is slightly more expensive than other 5-Milers, please note that this is a premium event with big-city race amenities. All race participants will be given long sleeve race shirts and die-cast finishers medals. Our race is timed using disposable tags embedded on the back of each runners bib.

Q: Can I run in costume?

A: Of course! Not only do we suggest that all our participants run in costume, but we also will provide our best dressed male finisher and female finisher with awards at our award ceremony!

Q: How do awards work?

A: The top three male finishers and female finishers will each receive an award and a pumpkin pie upon completing the race. We will also give an award for the best male costume and female costume. The top finishing male and top finishing female will each receive a pumpkin in addition to their other prizes.

Q: Will there be water and restrooms available on the course?
A: There are 2 rest stations on the course, at mile 1.5 and 3.5. At both rest stations, there will be water, gatorade, and of course, CANDY! There will be ample restrooms available at the starting area.

Q: What is the course like?
A: The course consists of paved park roads that are not open to traffic. Tyler Park is renown as one of America’s most beautiful state parks, and this course offers a beautiful view of Tyler Park in Autumn. Though hilly,, the short distance of the race will ensure an exciting and challenging Fall run.
